Hi, I am trying to install Jetpack.

and when I click “Set up Jetpack” button, I see the error message which is “An error occurred. Please try again.”

I have deactivated all the other plugins except Jetpack, but still get the error.

I am a beginner so I don’t know what to do.

Please help me get through it.

    Hi, @bruceallen

I’v solved this problem by editing my URL of SSL certificate.

I wrote URL including ‘www.’ when I set up SSL certificate, but I could still see the notice that my URL was not safe.

So I tried to write URL without ‘www.’, and it worked very well.

That was the problem that I couldn’t reach Jetpack’s set up system.

Now it is working and here is my address that you can check.

Thank you for concerning about this problem.

    Hi @shy19890

Thanks for the update! I did take a look and that there is still an issue with the Jetpack connection.

While your site is publicly accessible, we cannot access your site’s XML-RPC file:

This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message:

    • XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

You can see a working example here:

Since your site returns a 404 error for this page, I would recommend that you check the following:

    • Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then please try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then click the “Reinstall” button.
    • Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the xmlrpc.php file.
    • Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

Once we are able to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file, please try to reconnect your site:

If you want to learn more details about XML-RPC and how it interacts with Jetpack, you can check out our detailed guide here: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-and-xml-rpc

Looking forward to your reply on how it went and then we will check for the Jetpack connection for your site again to check if things started working properly after the above steps. ??

    Hi, @bruceallen

I’ve read all your following steps.

Actually I am weak at coding stuff.. but I searched and tried to find it out.

Firstly, I used Filezilla SFTP to check it and I’ve found out that xmlrpc.php file was properly placed in pulic_html folder.(Please check bottom img)

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nKSbeTesZwhJ7vPi6HZMPZz40pIGfHET/view?usp=drive_link

Secondly, I’ve checked the installed plugins.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_yBDR1rFXIrz6RTaaF8jrWl1Ebg_6rWW/view?usp=drive_link

But I don’t know which plugin can block Jetpack so please check it for me.

    -Updated

    I may find something wrong.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/18FVaj9Q-TxnAYF4uqnqiUgR2mo05E9L0/view?usp=drive_link

This is the plugin which may clash with Jetpack but I didn’t even intall this plugin so I think this is default plugin..?

When I entered Health section of this plugin, I saw the error message like below.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xc-x9h-05SxXmxqP-t1tyDm2DODCY6-C/view?usp=drive_link

Even though I reconnected Jetpack, there is still the same error message I saw.

I don’t know what to do. Help me please.

    Thank you!
