Setting a new template

  • Welcome.
    I am a freshman in creating templates, and poor knowledge of English does not help in understanding the Codex.

    My question is: whether creating a template is to separate ‘partials’ to create a separate PHP files?
    In other words; when creating pages can be added to a specific template (for me are: default, right-sidebar and dual-sidebar), so for everyone (except default) created a PHP files. Is such action is according to art, whether it should be done by some functions in PHP? (I would add that in PHP I am leg …)

    I will be grateful for your advice and any tips what to do, if now I act contrary to the standards.
