Setting a post to always be displayed first?

Is it possible to set a particular post to always be displayed first when someone visits the blog? Bascially so it sppears as the newest post.

I would like this post to be ‘first’ and then the others posts displayed after it on the same page.

I thought about setting a page as the home page but this doesnt do what I want.

Is it possible to do this? Would I have to hard code it?
