    Hi there,

Call me a dump, I acccept it :).

I had to set the cron on 30 min upon server requirements (siteground.com), that was 4H00 ago, to check a list of 110 URL.

    Questions if you please :

    * when do I get the report (still nothing) ?

    * Will I have a report every 30 min ?

    * Or will it take 30 min to check on url ?

I am asking this because I plan to go for the ping back software from the same IT man, and I need to understand the stuff (newbie and self made man here).

    Cheers in advanced,

    Bert

    Hi Bert,

If you set the cron to 30 minutes (I would say that is unnecessarily infrequent) and for example you have 300 backlink URLs then the plugin will process (check) the first 50 URLs the first time it runs, then the next 50 URLs 30 minutes later – and the next 50 URLs 30 minutes later – and so on…

The report is sent by email once ALL the URLs are processed.

So 300 URLs divided by 50-per-batch process means you would need 6 batches ‘fired up’ by cron.

If cron is set at 30 minutes, then that will take (6 x 30 minutes) = 3 hours.

Again, setting cron to 30 minutes is unnecessarily cautious and too slow. If your server is halfway to being good, then you should be able to set cron to fire every 3 minutes – which would mean you get that batch of 300 backlinks checked in 18 minutes

    Hope that helps

    Hi Duncan,

It helps indeed, and I thank you for this, and will set on 3 min.

    Cheers,

    Bert
