    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    That code is still the recommend way to change column widths. Note that things get tricky once a table’s width reaches the width of its container, as the browser does then not really have “room” to work with. Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply, and sorry for my delay on my response. The actual table data is confidential so I’ve gone ahead and made a copy with dummy data that will show the issue. https://fhrwanda.org/table-test/

    And I’m definitely hitting this problem; my hope was that the horizontal scrolling feature would allow the table to be wider than the page… any advice?

    Hi,

    thanks for the link!

    Just as I thought, your columns are already too wide (making it necessary to use horizontal scrolling). Therefore, the width: ..px; CSS property is not sufficient to increase the width of a column. Instead, you should also add the min-width property, with the same value, i.e.

    width: ..px;
    min-width: ..px;

    wherever you want to increase the column widths for this table.

    Regards,
    Tobias
