I’m frequently importing lots of products via CSV import which require post-import editing before they are ready to visible in search and catalog. Is there a way to set the default visibility to ‘hidden’ for all new/imported products? Thanks!

    Hi there,
If you are using the inbuilt CSV importer, the column headings are discussed here:
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/wiki/Product-CSV-Import-Schema#csv-columns-and-formatting

In particular have a look at this column heading:

    Visibility in catalog

This had a default value of Visible but can also be set to one of visible, catalog, search, hidden.

I hope that helps you to figure it out.
Feel free to get back to us if you have further questions.

Ah okay, thank you for this. So adding a visibility column to the csv prior to import each time is the easiest way to go?

    Yes indeed.
That will enable you to set the product visibility to Hidden after the import.
Let us know how you get on with it.

Hi @ojs81. We haven’t heard from you in a while so I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. If you still need help with this issue or have any other questions about the WooCommerce plugin, please start a new thread.
