Setting folders to optimize – dummies guide?

Great plugin – 99% of my images are now optimized and no longer showing as requiring in Google PageSpeed as requiring review.
However, I have 2 images that don’t seem to be picked up by the plugin. One is my header image, the other is a cookie notice plugin image.
I ‘think’ I can get around this by telling EWWW where to look i.e. using the ‘Folders to optimize’ setting, but I don’t know how to use it.
I’ve tried using the URL that Google give me for the image that has the issue. I’ve also tried finding the folder in FileZilla and trying different versions of that path – still no luck – the line doesn’t save.
I’m clearly missing something obvious here so would be very grateful if someone could tell me, in real dummy terms, what kind of path I should be using, what parts to paste, and where I should find this path for an image that I know the location of.
