Setting image to the left of a centered logo in header

    I have tried to initiate an action hook:

    add_action(‘’wp_head,’additional_image’);

    additional_image(){
    echo’<div id=“additionalImage”></div>’;

    };

    could someone tell me if I am on the right track or did I miss the mark?
