Hi there, I need some help. My WordPress 4.1.1 running Optimizer PRO theme site https://www.gocuplin.com is hosted via a third party provider (Network Solutions). Under ‘settings’ and ‘general’ when I change the ‘site address (URL)’ from https://03bb5e7.netsolhost.com/WordPress to https://www.gocuplin.com (as I wish to have this URL consistent across the pages of my site) I get ‘internal server errors’ on all pages of my live site – except for the homepage, which remains fine. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. Matt

  • Are you still able to access the WordPress admin area? If so, try refreshing permalinks.

Until today I was able to see the admin area and was trying to refresh the permalinks… however, it said I needed to update the .htaccess file and I cannot work out where this is. My WP is hosted by Network Solutions and, looking on their platform, changing anything just sends me back to my WP dashboard – which I now can’t access:

OK, the access issue is resolved. I’m still keen to change my site’s root URL to https://www.gocuplin.com I do not have access to my hosting FTP. Is there any other way to update/change the .htaccess file that when I change the permalinks I’m asked to update?

OK, I’ve managed to do this now, by posting the .htaccess code into the Java code update section within the Optimizer Pro settings. Many thanks again for all the help on this one.
