• Hi,
I’m looking to purchase either Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms to allow my Contributor and Author users to post content from the front end. They will only be allowed to set the status to Draft or Pending.

My Editor users will then use either Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms to EDIT the posts and publish them. The Editors will also need to set the Post Level Restrictions.

Is the Post Level Restriction seen as a custom field by other plugins? I need the Editors to be able update the Post Level Restriction field from the front end form. How can this be done?

    Thank you, Gail

  • Does this need to be done on-site? How about having your contributors use QTM instead? It’s free, simple, and intuitive — and available here.

you can add the “restrict_content” capability to appropriate wp role with user role editor plugin, this will allow that role to access s2 restriction metabox

Hi All, I apologize for letting this go for two weeks, but I was pulled to do something else at work.

Let me provide some more details. We have to allow our Editors to enter new posts, and edit existing ones from the front end, directly through our website. They will not have access to the Admin panel. When they create/edit a post, they must decide what level of user can have access to the specific post, either no level=Public, level 0=Subscriber, or level 4=everyone else. So when they go to enter the information into the form, I will ask them what S2Member level should be set for the post they are creating or editing.

Ninjaforms allows us to access custom meta data and set a value on a per post basis. Is there a S2member meta that I can set to either Level 1 or 4 when the user submits the post from the website. So if I, as the Admin, edit the post through the Admin panel,

BTW Ninjaforms was chosen for the time being, so I don’t have any other choices right now.

Any help you can give me is very much appreciated!
    Regards,
    Gail

How do your editors choose the level? It would be straightforward to do it by category, for example.

Hi, thank you again for responding to my question.

The editors will be asked to choose who can see the content with the following check boxes:

    Public
    OR
    Subscribers
OR (one or both of the following)
    Internal Staff
    Steering Committee

I could use categories, except, up until now, I’ve used the post level restrictions on our existing content. And we’ve tried to keep our category taxonomy simple for our users. I believe I could use categories, and I’m working on trying to implement that within Ninjaforms today. I was hoping that there might be a way to continue to use post level restrictions, however.

    Regards, Gail
