• I’m making a glossary in wordpress.

Here’s what I want to do:

    1. Set Parameters of of a seach box so that it searches only in the “post name.”
    2. Moves exact matches to the top of results.
    3. Have code so I can give this “search glossary” searchbox to other sites (to search my glossary).

If it could search only in the “glossary” category, that would be a plus.

I will gladly give links from my site to whoever solves this one. I can give a link from a mortgage, poker, travel or porn site. Whichever you prefer (in fact all 4 if you nail it).

  • Chris Waigl set up the Eggcorns site:
    https://eggcorns.lascribe.net/
which could be close to what you want ? Worth a look maybe ?

i looked at that site for about 5 minutes trying to figure out if he has such a plugin running – he does not. But I’m sure his site would benefit greatly from the script that I requested.

For example, if you search for “reign” in his database, several posts come up before the 2 with reign in the h2 (post name). You have to go about 6 deep to find the correct term even when it is an exact match.

Eggcorns could definitely use the script. That makes at least 2 of us. I’m sure that many people would like the search to first give order preference to the results in the Post and category name.

So who’s the PHP genius who can help us out? 011011000111101
