Setting Site Address (URL) as subdomain slow?
-
Hi.
A fresh install of WordPress, installed to a subfolder:
https://www.mywebsite.co.uk/blog
It works fast. I then set https://www.mywebsite.co.uk/blog up as a subdomain, whereby:
blog.mywebsite.co.uk now points to https://www.mywebsite.co.uk/blog
I browse to blog.mywebsite.co.uk, and everything still works fast. The only trouble is when I click a page/post, the URL address changes to https://www.mywebsite.co.uk/blog/whatever. So…
In General Settings, I changed the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) both to be blog.mywebsite.co.uk.
Now, the site still works, but the speed of page loading is about 7 or 8 seconds (from about half a second)!! So I changed the WordPress and Site Address back, and it’s fast again?
Can anybody suggest why this is happening? Thanks.
