When I go into the RankMath schema menu for my About page, I was hoping to be able to choose the Organization schema for it as recommended in a couple of places on the net.

However, Organization is not in the list of available schemas.

I’ve found some articles in your knowledge base but they appear to be out-of-date or maybe for premium only. They say some confusing stuff about what schema should be chosen or is chosen by default, and also told me to try out the Google Search Console rich results test to see if the “Aboutpage” info comes up in the test results. It doesn’t, and Google actually reports that no rich results where found – does that mean that RankMath isn’t even applying the default article schema that I specified in the general settings?

    Hello @ahardy42,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Our plugin automatically adds the Organization/LocalBusiness Schema to your whole site once you add the details of your business in WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Local SEO.

After you configure the settings, you can check your about page again in the Rich Result Test.

    Hope that helps.

No need to apologise, your plugin is fantastic. Anyway, I already have details in Local SEO, everything except street address, which I entered and then I refreshed the cache, but the rich result test still shows nothing.

It certainly shows an article schema for the home page, but nothing for the About page.

Also, in my WP Page listing, my About page in the SEO column has “schema: off”. All other pages have “schema: article”. That is my chosen default, but why nothing for the About page?

    Hello @ahardy42,

Using the Article Schema on the About page is not recommended as the page isn’t an article and has the details about your site/organization.

Our plugin automatically adds the AboutPage Schema type to the page you have selected as the About page in the Local SEO settings of our plugin. Since the Schema type is not eligible for rich snippets, it will not show up in the Rich Results test but you can use the Schema validator to confirm that the Schema is present: https://validator.schema.org/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fecocore.org%2Fabout%2F

    Hope that helps.

It does help, thanks – I can now see via schema.org that my About page has the AboutPage schema built in, but why doesn’t that show up in the SEO column on the WP page listing, as all other pages have a schema shown? Not a big deal, but it would have saved time.

In the schema.org validator output, what is the “hentry”? It has a value for “entry-content” that I need to tweak (it is showing good info, but it’s doubled) but I have no idea where the info is coming from. Is it also under RankMath control?

    Hello @ahardy42,

The SEO Details column shows the Schema types that are applied in the Schema tab of our plugin’s meta box. Since the AboutPage and other default Schemas are applied directly in the front end, they won’t be visible there.

The Hentry is a default Schema that WordPress adds to your pages. There is no easy way to modify it. You can remove that by following this guide:
    https://w3site.ca/remove-hentry-schema-wordpress/

    Hope that helps.
