Setting up a social menu

  • I’ve tried to figure out how to make a social menu with the built in Font Awesome icons (which I’m not seeing?), but I don’t have access to the basic tutorials on your site. I also tried the link that was given in a previous support post, but the “basic tutorials” all redirect me to a completely different free theme, and I can’t access the basic tutorials.

    I recently made a big change with the site and converted from Joomla to WordPress, so there is going to be some things to fix and especially with tutorials as I have deleted some and some need to be rewritten (or at least updated).

    Aside from that, if I understand correctly, you are wanting to make a social menu but the tutorial is gone? If so, here is a quick version of doing that…

    1. Create a custom menu and called is Social Menu (or whatever you decide)
    2. Assign the menu to the Social Menu location (using the settings at the bottom)
    3. For each social profile you want, use the “Custom Link” option to create and add in the full URL of your profile page for a menu link, then repeat for the next social profile.

    I made a note to create a new social menu tutorial, but will have to do that tomorrow as it’s late where I am. I also needing to update my free themes with the links as well.
