    Afternoon,

I’m currently working on a client’s website and I’m wondering how our clients to test the website without having to login via WordPress. Ideally, I would like to send them a link so they can test the website that way for any issues / final amendments before we launch it.

I was wondering if anyone could please help, or advise me on what would be the best way to do this.

I have had a look on a few website about staging sites, but I’m a little unclear of to do this.

    Kind regards,
    Nick

I develop on my own server, visible to the client. When all is done (and the invoice paid), I move the site to the client’s designated host. To move the site, I copy the files via FTP, use better-search-and-replace to replace my domain with the clients, then export the DB from my server and import on the clients. Ta-da, done, except for hooking up with Google webmaster tools, enabling caching, etc.

We also do training on the dev site so they feel safe to break things.

    Hi Steve,

Many thanks for your reply. Your method sounds really easy to do, I’ll give that a try.

    Kind regards,
    Nick
