• Hi there,

I’m a newbie here, got the domain name, 1 click install for worldpress, and I don’t know what to do next? when I click on my domain name, this shows:

“The server at https://www.deplifestylemagazine.com can’t be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website’s name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.”

    Please kindly help. Thank you.

  • HI,

    Try this-
    Clear your DNS cache by
    1. opening a Command Prompt
    2. Type ipconfig /flushdns
    3. Restart your web browser.

    Not a DNS cache issue.
The problem is that your domain name is not yet connected to your hosting.
I know this because when I did:
    dig deplifestylemagazine.com
    there were no settings.

As part of your domain name registration there are group of settings called “name servers”, there are at least two of them, often three of four. As part of configuring your name, you must set these name servers to the values specified by your website host. This way when the name is looked up, it is referred to your web host and hence your website or email or whatever.

Your hosting support will be able to give you the nameserver settings required to use your hosting. Once you have installed these settings at your domain registrar, it can take many hours, even a day for them to be propagated and be uniformly accessible across the net.
