Please note: I am a very basic WordPress user.

I am trying to set up a conference registration form on our website.

We currently have Contact Form 7 v3.0.2.1 installed. I just installed Paypal Integration.

I see the paypal section in the contact form builder. How does this know to link to my paypal account? I read in another thread you have to access the settings. It says I do not have permission. I am an administrator.

The form generates an error: Fatal error: Call to undefined method WPCF7_ContactForm::id() in /home/p153j742/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7-paypal-add-on/paypal.php on line 218

I figured there would be an error bc how does the form know where to go after it is submitted.

    What am I doing wrong????

Also, if I have 2 pricing levels for my registration, will I need the Pro version?

    Hi ka-icontracts,

To answer your first question, you enter your PayPal account in Contact -> PayPal Settings -> PayPal Account.

Regarding permissions, it should only give that error if you are not an administrator. Could you double check your account in Role -> All Users -> (find your account) -> Role column.

The error you posted is very strange, I have have not seen it before. Are you using WordPress multisite?

What do you mean by two level pricing?

    Thanks,
    Scott

When I go to Contact, it takes me to Contact Form 7. I see the forms we have and the only Paypal setting I see are if you scroll in the form options:

    Enable PayPal on this form

    Item Description:
(Optional, if left blank customer will be able to enter their own description at checkout)
    Item Price:
(Optional, if left blank customer will be able to enter their own price at checkout. Format: for $2.99, enter 2.99)
    Item ID / SKU:
    (Optional)

I am definitely an Administrator. I just double checked that.

We are only using WordPress for one website.

When I mentioned two pricing options, my event has two prices: $500 or $1000. I was reading in other threads that if you have 1 price, the integration works. If you have 2 prices that the user has to select, you have to install the Pro version.

    Hi ka-icontracts,

For the settings page, hover your mouse over Contact, and you should see three options: Contact Forms, Add New, PayPal Settings. Let me know if on that page you still get a permissions error?

Regarding the error, so even though you are only using 1 website you could be using a WordPress Mulisite setup. I am just trying to figure out if that could be the problem because I did some searching online for that error and it looks like it can happy from Multisite installs.

Oh, I get what you mean now. Yes, you will need the Pro version for that.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,

When I hover over Contact, there are no options. Would this have anything to do with CF7 being version 3.0.2.1?

How can I find out of I’m using a Multisite install?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi ka-icontracts,

I definitely think it could, since the current Contact Form 7 version is 4.2.2. Could you upgrade it? That might be the problem.

    Thanks,
    Scott

It doesn’t give the option to update on the plugins page in WordPress.

How do I go about this so my current contact form does not get messed up?

I’m sure this is probably very easy, I’m just a basic user. Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi ka-icontracts,

If you go to the Plugins page you should see:
“There is a new version of Contact Form 7 available. View version 4.2.2 details or update now.”

    Click the update now link.

Updating should not mess up your current contact form.

    Thanks,
    Scott

There is not an option to update CF7 on the plugin page.

Other plugins on the site have that option available, but for some reason CF7 doesn’t.

Is there another way to update this?

    All that is visible is:

    Contact Form 7
    Settings | Deactivate | Edit

Just another contact form plugin. Simple but flexible.

    Hi ka-icontracts,

Please check out this video to learn how to update WordPress and plugins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ENxlugkiUg

I would recommend updating to the newest version of WordPress: 4.2.4. This may also fix your plugin not showing updates.

    Thanks,

    Hi Scott –

I’m having someone back up the site for me tonight. I needed to do that before I updated WP. After I update both WP and CF7, I’ll check back with you if I’m having issues. Thanks for all your “support”.

    Hi ka-icontracts,

Definitely good to backup first! Sounds good.

I got it! The updates on both WP and CF7 helped!

    I have one more question…

I’m using this for a conference we are hosting. I have two packages available with different price options. How do I handle that? The PayPal setting only allows for 1 price or leave blank and have the person fill in their own price. Is there a way to do 2 different price options?

The follow up to that, is there a way to select a quantity? For example, if someone is registering for two people and they want 2 of the $999.00 package, is that possible?
