Hi guys, I’ve a couple of issues with the plugin, although it’s a very decent and effective one. Probably more people have the same issues that i’m trying to solve:

    1. Is is possible to have it use the new gutenberg text editor instead of the classic?
    2. Our text is all clustered. The emails have paragraphs in the content but that format doesn’t reflect in the end text that shows up on our site. Is there a way to make the content respect the paragraphs in the email’s content?
    3. How can I set in the email the category and tags for the post that will be uploaded?
    4. Is there a way to keep the images that are in between the email’s content paragraphs in the same spots when reflected to the post on the website?

These are 4 key issues that we’re trying to solve to improve the workflow between our writers and publishers. We really appreciate what you’ve been doing with Postie and would love to finish setting it up, but this issues have been a headache although I recognize I’m only a beginner in terms of front-end ????

    Glad you find Postie useful.

    >Is it possible to have it use the new gutenberg text editor instead of the classic?

No it isn’t. WordPress does not provide a mechanism to convert html to blocks in PHP.

    >The emails have paragraphs in the content but that format doesn’t reflect in the end text that shows up on our site

Please verify you are sending rich text and the Postie is configured to prefer html.

    >How can I set in the email the category and tags for the post that will be uploaded?

    See https://postieplugin.com/usage/

If html emails are being received then them images should be in the right spot.

Hi @wayneallen-1 thank you so much for the reply. We’re sad that WordPress doesn’t provide you with the tools to work with blocks. But it’s alright.

on 2. We have switched to plain text and not html as it fills our posts with all the styles that the original email has (it’s press releases and media usually use about 3 different formats in a single email so it’s a pain in the neck to format it on WordPress) but is the html option the only way to keep the formats? We will test html option again.

3 and 4. Thank you very much we have it now running as it should.

    5. we’ve noticed that only half of the text gets received on WordPress although the emails have the full text. Are you aware of this issue and how to solve it?

Plain Text by definition does not have styling. It is plain.

Unsure. Please install the Support AddOn and follow the directions to collect detailed logs and send them to me and I will investigate.
