Setting up subscription service

Let’s say that I had or wanted to create several teaching videos on a particular subject; How would I go about setting up my blog so that only those who had an active subscription, or had paid for an active subscription, could enter with a username and password?

I’ve seen some people do this successfully on youtube. One site that I know of is educhalk.org. This guy charges for wordpress help.
