• Hi All,
I have looked at almost every Googled answer on the topic, but none work.

I am attempting to use a subdomain to serve images & video to my WP install. I understand setting up domains on (mt)’s Grid Servers and am able to follow the instructions in posts like this one, except I can’t figure out how to point my subdomain to the original uploads directory on the main domain using Media Temple’s control panel.

Has anyone here set this up successfully? Can anyone help me figure this out?

If I don’t need to point the subdomain to the directory, how else can I get this to work? I have tried just about every tutorial I can find, but most of them are the same and none work—all my images fail to upload.

    Thanks so much!

  • There are a few ways to do this. It depends on a few things.

    1) are you comfortable with SSH?
    2) do you have plans for CDN in the future?
    3) do you want to stay within WordPress or do you want to move things around? (files, links, etc.)
    4) are you already using W3 Total Cache?
    5) how many existing posts do you have?
