Setting up WP for a fiction writer; ordering archives?.

I have a friend who wants to use WordPress to publish some short Scf-Fi/Fantasy stories he has been writing. The only thing that I need to change is how the archives are displayed. Normally items are posted as newest item first, but for the stories it makes more sense to have the oldest post appear at the top.

On the other hand would it make more sense to just use multi-page posts where each post was a single story arc. I think he would like this solution better, plus the archives would still list the most recent story first. However, I don’t know how to implement multi-page posts. Can anyone offer up some advice or a link or two with some more info?
