• Hi,

I have installed Wicked Folder in a client staging website on Ionos. When I edit settings and saved, it seem the datas are saved but when I go to the content type, Wicked Folder don’t show.

When I back to the settings, all my modifications are lost.

I have tryed to unactive all plugins without success.

    Can you help me please?

    Thanks.

    Hi @besky,

That is really strange. So even with all other plugins deactivated the settings still don’t get saved?

Are you using the latest version of WordPress and Wicked Folders? Are you using multisite?

One thing you may want to try is adding define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ) to your wp-config.php file. Then try saving the settings again and see if an error is displayed. If so, can you please post it?

I use the last version of WordPress and Wicked Folder too.

I have already tryed to activate the debug and I get nothing error.

    PHP : 7.3
    WP : 5.4
    Theme : Salient (11.0.4)
    Wicked Folder : 2.16.6

Hmmmm, what happens if you try changing another setting such as the site title on the Settings > General page? Does that setting get saved?

So when you save the changes on the Settings > Wicked Folders page the settings appear to be saved? For example, if you turn on folders for Posts and save the settings, the Posts box is still checked?

What happens you save the settings and then click on the Settings > Wicked Folders link? Does the setting still appear correct or does it change?

If I reload the settings page or click to “settings > Wicked Folder” the settings I have changed are removed.

It’s very strange, it’s like a database problem for register new settings but only for Wicked Folder…

I continue to investigate tomorrow and back to you if I have some news.

    Thanks for your support!

    Hello,

Can you tell me where the configuration of the plugin is register in the DB please?

I suppose this is a bug with de DB and I would like to compare the DB of the production website with the DB of the staging.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @besky,

The settings are stored in the wp_options table and are prefixed with wicked_folders_.

BTW, I did find a bug the other day related to this. If the settings haven’t been previously saved (such as with a fresh install) and a setting is turned off, the setting won’t get saved. However, this bug wouldn’t impact the post type selection setting and it would only occur if the setting had never been saved while turned on.

It sounds like your issue may be something different though. The issue I’m describing here will be fixed in the update that we’re pushing out this week.
