Hello, I work on WordPress 4.5.3 with NextGEN Gallery 2.1.46. Now the settings don’t work at all, whatever I try to change e.g. Thumbnail settings – there is no changing.

I thought about reinstalling the whole plugin, but I have a lot of galleries and descriptionts etc. I have no idea if it’s possible to save the nextgen database and put it back after a new installation?

It worked perfectly in older versions.

@diggital2016 – Where are you trying to change the “Thumbnail settings” and where do you expect those changes to appear?

Also, a link to one of your NextGEN Gallery displays may also be helpful.

    Thanks!

I’m using the German version and try to change settings in ‘Gallery Settings’ e.g. > ‘NextGEN Basic Thumbnails’ > e.g. try to change columns or hide slideshow link.

Also the ‘Other Options’ for preview images etc. don’t have any effects after saving.

The site isn’t online for public yet, only password protected in a test mode.

I also can’t change to permalinks, then I get white screens and can’t see the content anymore…

@diggital2016 – Not being able to change your Permalinks would most likely be due to something in your server environment and best resolved by your web hosting service, this may also be affecting how NextGEN Gallery is working as well.

As it is, if you are making the changes under Gallery > Gallery Settings and/or Other Options these changes will only affect new inserted displays if you are using the Insert Gallery Window / Add Gallery button, existing displays will have to be individually edited to have the same changes applied to them.

    Thanks!

I didn’t mean that I’m not able to change to Permalinks, of course I can do that, but the effect is after changing to Permalinks that the site isn’t working correctly (white screens).

So please tell me how I can change my existing galleries, e.g. don’t display the slideshow link, change thumbnail sizes and the displayed columns, that would be helpful.

    Thanks for your help!

Now I managed to do it! It seems to be that it’s only possible to edit every single gallery and change columns, hide slideshow link etc.?

Also changing the thumbnail sizes is possible by editing one gallery after another, selecting all images and choose ‘creating new thumbnails’ in the edit drop down box of each gallery.

    For the Permalinks:
Is it possible that they don’t work because of the password protection in the htaccess file of my site?

@diggital2016 – Thanks for the update on how you sorted this out. As to the issue with the Permalinks on your site, it could be the “password protection” on the .htaccess file and/or something blocking access to it in general such as a security plugin/service on your site.

The plugin, if that is the case, may have a setting you can adjust as needed … otherwise I would suggest bringing the issue with the .htaccess file to your web hosting services attention for them to review that particular issue further.

    Thanks, again!
