Hi there, I’ve noticed a rather strange phenomenon: When XML News Sitemap is active, a “Settings” Link does appear next to the “Deactivate” link for all plugins in the plugin list in WordPress administration.

And they all will link to: …/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=gns-xml

Hi @w-sky, could you deactivate the plugin and let me know what happens?

Yes, sure! If I deactivate your plugin, all those “Settings” links at the other plugins disappear, when I activate it again they are there again.

Could send screenshots if you like.

PS: If I deactivate your plugin and reactivate, the settings revert back to defaults. Is this normal? :/

    Worpress version is 4.9-de
    PHP 7.1.11
    mySQL 5.7.20

Here are two screenshots (sadly no way to upload images in the forum)

Surprised there’s no further word here on this. I’m having the same issue 3 and a half months later with the latest versions. As @w-sky mentioned, XML News Sitemap renders a “Settings” link on every installed item in the Plugins Status page including deactivated plugins once XML News Sitemap is activated. Settings links for every single plugin then lead to XML News Sitemap Settings. XML News Sitemap is a beautifully simple plugin that does what I need without cruft, which is really appreciated. I’ve chosen to deactivate and reactivate it every time I need to adjust other plugins’ settings instead of deleting it, though would love to help find a fix.

    XML News Sitemap 1.2.2
    WP 4.9.4
    PHP 7.0.27
    MySQL 5.6.36-82.1 Percona

Thank you very much! If there’s any way I can help, please let me know.
