Are you using the latest version of WordPress? Do you have any script blockers that would be blocking postbox script?

Do the meta boxes on other pages of your blog open and close?

if you downgrade to 1.9.0.1 does this work?

You can try editting the version of admin.inc.php on lines 188, 261, 456 and 497 and delete closed

    Hello Ajay,

First let me say the metaboxes now function. To answer your questions, and let you know the steps I took.

    1. I am running the latest version of WordPress.

    2. I was running Ghostery and Greasemonkey in Firefox, but not in any of the other browsers in which the boxes did not open. I’ve never loaded any plugins or extensions for IE or Opera.

    3. Yes, all other metaboxes function properly

    4. Tried downgrading to 1.9.0.1 , with no joy. I cleared all caches, as well as WordPress cache, and tried again, no success in any browser

    5. Went into 1.9.0.1’s admin.inc.php and edited lines as instructed. Cleared all caches again, went into Settings again and all metaboxes were open in all browsers.

    6. Allowed WordPress to automatically upgrade the the plugin to 1.9.1 once more. Went into Settings and now all boxes are functioning properly, in all browsers.

I have to wonder if a glitch didn’t creep in on the original upgrade and didn’t get properly overwritten with the revision. It seems only after I edited the script by hand that the upgrade worked.

Beats me. Chalk it up to an idiosyncratic bug… unless others come across it, I guess. Thanks for the quick response!

Thanks for updating me clearly with the steps. It’s definitely helpful if any other user has this problem.

I suspect it might have been some weird bug that did crop up that didn’t load some script. Strange but glad to know it works well!
