Settings Not Working?

Using the newest version of the plugin (1.5) and WordPress (3.5). When using the shortcode in a (sidebar) wideget, if I just put in the id/name, it seems to use the defaults instead of whatever I set in the dashboard, but if I put the settings in with the shortcode that works.
For example:
[wpnewcarousel name=”test” width=”250″ height=”195″ effect=”fade” shownav=”false”] – works
[wpnewcarousel name=”test”] – everything is the default (except maybe width/height, not sure since my images are the size I already want them to be) even though in the carousel settings, I have these: test
250 195 fade 0 750 5000 false true
