Settings Resetting Frequently

I have the same problem but apparently the author has abandoned this plugin. Most support topics have been unanswered for weeks.

Same here, settings get reset. It’s one of my favourite plugins, has sped up our websites considerably. Pity that it has been abandoned.

Same issue here…I thought I was the only one. Developer, please help fix this baby bug. This plugin is super awesome! Hope it gets well soon.

Same problem for me, it’s not only annoying but also destroys the design of my page. I have set the plugin to only convert jpeg because for me it removes the transparency in PNGs. Everytime it is reset it also converts PNGs and gives them white or black background which deestroys my design. I will disable the plugin again. Does anybody know of a good alternative?

@frkn64 @kashmiri solution that appears to work is as follows:
– navigate to Plugins > Plugin Editor > select WebP Express plugin to edit.
– go to and open lib/classes/AdminInit.php
– scroll down to line 41 which should have the following:
include WEBPEXPRESS_PLUGIN_DIR . '/lib/migrate/migrate12.php';
comment out that line by inserting //
//include WEBPEXPRESS_PLUGIN_DIR . '/lib/migrate/migrate12.php';

Save and check intermittently over the next 24 hours.
Worked for me…

Hi @rocafresh , that sounds good. It would be great if you can watch if it works for a while (a week or so). Can you then post again if it still works or if the reset has happened again?

The resetting bug is fixed in the 0.17.4, which I just released.

Sorry for not being there for you. Due to abnormal circumstances I have had very little time for the plugin the past year. I will however be fully back in mid august (unless other bad luck is awaiting!). In the meantime, I expect to have some evenings now and then for lightweight maintenance.
