Settings – where to fix automatic email sending to wrong place
-
Hello! I recently updated my website (changed themes and moved to an Elementor based site). Since then I’ve been receiving an email every time someone signs up for my newsletter at checkout. The email is a “Thank you for signing up” email as if I’m the person who signed up. I added an email log plugin to try and figure it out, and I think the setting is incorrect, and I’m receiving the email rather than the customer.
I do have another place on my site (home page) where I have a newsletter signup using the Elementor contact form plugin. I discovered that the settings were incorrect (sending me the emails rather than the customer) and I’ve fixed it now. However, I know that the incorrect emails I’ve been receiving this last week are from checkout (not the home page form) because the subject title of the email is different.
However, I can’t for the life of me figure out where to change the settings for what/who gets an email at checkout. I set this newsletter sign-up at checkout years ago when I first set up my Woocommerce site, and I can no longer find the settings for the newsletter at checkout page. The Woocommerce documentation seems to be outdated (it shows Mailchimp showing in Woocommerce>Settings>Integration rather than where it shows on my site: Woocommerce>Mailchimp.) I can find the “Opt-in Settings” in Woocommerce>Mailchimp>Audience Settings but these settings don’t have any options for an email being sent when the customer opts in.
Please note: I have *not* created an automation email on the Mailchimp account end (I’d like to – but I want to figure this out first so that customers aren’t being sent multiple emails.) The email log from my website seems to indicate the emails are being generated there (rather than pulled from Mailchimp).
Hopefully this is an easy fix, and I just haven’t been able to find the settings. Thank you!
