• Hey!

The file “setup-config.php” has been quarantined by my hosting provider.
Of course, now the site doesn’t work and shows a 500 error message.

The hosting provide wont remove from quarantine the file, so I tried to upload a brand new setup-config.php file, and now the site shows:

“Sorry, I need a wp-config-sample.php file to work from. Please re-upload this file from your WordPress installation.”

Note that I don’t have that file because was installed and working fine.
    I have a standard wp-config.php file.

What should I do in order to make the site work again, without losing any data??
    Thank you!

  • You don’t need that file for WordPress to work once you are set up and running. You are getting a 500 message for something else.

    Please post a url.

When you have this worked out you need to upgrade to the latest version.
