I have an existing account for Stripe which works for normal customer payments, but the installation instructions for this plugin don’t work for me.

If I Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments (Formerly Checkout) > Stripe, no API keys are visible to me. The instructions for creating new API keys are also confusing and don’t match what I see on the Stipe dashboard.

Go here to find your secret and publishable keys: https://dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys

Sorry about the outdated instructions. I’m going to work on updating them.

OK thanks. I’ve set it up but when testing I get ‘Invalid API Key provided’.

I’m using a restricted key. Could you clarify what Stripe permissions the key needs?

Minimal permissions would be PaymentIntents Write and Charges Write.

However the error you received is not a permissions error, it means that the key is incorrect. Check to make sure the “Secret Key” setting contains just the correct restricted key.

looks like I muddled up restricted key and publishable key. Switched them round and it works now. Thanks!
