Setup separate shipping methods

I’ve been struggling with this for a while. The bulk of my clients products ship free or they can select Next Day or 2nd Day Fed-Ex. That all works great. But they are adding a group of 7 products that are large and bulky and they’d like to ship four of them Free (freight shipping is included in the price); and they’d like the other three to ship Fed-Ex Ground ONLY.

I’ve spent hours messing with Shipping Zones and Classes and have read and re-read the documentation and countless tutorials, yet I’ve been unable to get these products to show ONLY the options listed above. They always end up showing EVERY option that is setup, including Free, Fed-Ex Next, 2nd Day AND Ground. Is there a good tutorial somewhere that describes how to do this? Keep in mind that zones don’t really accomplish this because all products ship anywhere in the domestic U.S.; just the 7 new products require special shipping, either Free ONLY, or Fed-Ex Ground ONLY.
