Sever Error 500 with PHP 8

After upgrading our server to 8.1 the ERE plugin leads to two errors:

1) We use it in combination with Divi theme and within Divi builder we are not able to save the page where a ERE shortcode is used due to insufficient values in PHP variables. Our PHP variables are already generously set.
2) On frontend we get a server error 500 for index document on that page with ERE shortcode and the page is totally shattered.

Same after downgrading PHP to 8.0.
No errors anymore after rolling back to 7.4.

Is your plugin still incompatible with the most recent PHP version?
