• I upgraded WordPress from 3.0.5 to 3.1 yesterday, and since then, I can’t add photos, tag posts, add new categories, change post status, etc.

I am using Atahualpa 3.6.4 with about 2 dozen plug-ins. I have done all the “recommended” troubleshooting steps, by disabling plug-ins, changing to the 2010 WordPress theme, and so forth, with no change. My URL is https://nikflorida.org, if that matters at all.

All these features were working fine in 3.0.5, and have only stopped since updating to 3.1. Further suggestions?

Did you try a manual upgrade or a different browser?

have similar problems. Did a manual upgrade from 3.0.4 to 3.1 and lots of AJAX stuff is not working.

*The hide/show arrow on the left side panel for Post, Media, Links etc in the admin area does not work any more.
*The ajax panels on the dashboard no longer load
*Other ajax features such as Create Link icon in the editor fail to load (screen is greyed, but panel never appears)

Have tested from Firefox 3.6.3 and Chrone 9.0.597.102 beta. Mac OS 10.5.8.

I’m getting an error from load-scripts.js, which is minified so it’s hard to say what it’s doing:

    a.attributes is null

SOLVED: Autofocus plus theme was the source of the problem. Fix here:

    Ipstenu–

Yes, I’ve downloaded 3.1 and manually upgraded it. It doesn’t work in current Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome, or Safari browsers. It doesn’t work with the 2010 theme, and it doesn’t work with NO plug-ins. I’ve gone to the thread suggested by Robert Carter and csnnot locate a call for the wrong version of jQuery; I’ve posted on the Atahualpa (3.6.4) forum, but not yet gotten any response. However, it does not seem to be a theme issue or a plug-in issue. The look of my site is unique, and can’t be replicated with another theme that I can see. I really would just “un-do” this upgrade if I could. I can’t find a straightforward way to do that, though. I’m really at a loss.

nikflorida – Obviously it works for most people (I mean it works for me, it works for everyone who did the 3-month beta and RCs of 3.1, we haven’t had that many reports of this).

We DID upgrade jQuery, but there should be no issues with the Twenty Ten theme.

What kind of server are you on? What version of PHP and SQL?

I’m using PHP 5.0 and mySQL 5.0 on a shared Apache hosting account with iPage. I’ve TRIED to be polite about this, but I’m getting hateful, snarky remarks back instead of help. It’s not a major source of income, so I’ll just rebuild the darn thing from scratch and use a different theme. You people haven’t been any help at ALL, and I can’t wait any longer.

    same problem here with 3.1

    Theme is custom-community

    bye

I have all the same problems as nikflorida but I am not using his theme. I’m using one called Fresh Lime Soda.

On posts, nothing with ajax functionality works – I cannot add post tags, schedule a post to be published, or edit custom fields. The page refreshes rather than the ajax action and no changes are committed.

It’s not working in any browser and tested on two machines. Plug-ins got turned off but that did nothing. Upgraded manually, still nothing.

Any suggestions would be helpful. It’s almost impossible to update my site now.

Oddly, I did a “quickinstall” of the whole thing from SimpleScripts (I use shared hosting from iPage), restored the database and the theme customizations, and now it works. I have no idea why.
