Several Changes not working with PHP 5.4

From Client:
– I AM able to upload all of the images I’d like. But when they are
finished uploading, they appear in that strange zigzag pattern instead of the straight line that you see on your browser and what I previously saw prior to the WP upgrade.– I AM NOT able to number or order the images. When I try to manually enter a number into the box provided on the right, nothing pops into the boxes, nothing can be entered. When I click “ascend” or “descend” (and so on) – nothing happens.
– I AM able to manually drag images into an order I’d like, BUT when I click to save my changes, the order returns to what it was when the images were uploaded. The reordering I manually did, hasn’t stuck.
– I AM NOT able to even insert the images into the blog area. I have tried to insert the images in the order they were uploaded in, but when I click each image and “Insert” – it loads as though it’s doing something, but nothing happens.
reverted back to PHP 5.3 and it fixed things
