    Hello,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your plugin.

There are some errors that we hope you would fix:

The Sitemaps works in the local host, but it does not work on our website, and your plugin has a conflict with Yoast Seo, the premium version and the free version, make an error in the “fonction.php” and the website does not display the articles only the title and the image appears.

    Screenshot: https://oi67.tinypic.com/2a6qfr4.jpg

I decided to use All In One Seo and the premium version of your plugin, the concern in this case is that the schema works with errors even though the option is disabled in the settings of the plugin.

The schema provided by your plugin contains errors, and create a new structure called “article” and our site already has the schema “NewsArticle” so this dual structure, in addition of the errors with this schema. (https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool)

    Screenshots:

    https://oi63.tinypic.com/2vipk7o.jpg

    https://oi65.tinypic.com/xlf0j6.jpg

    https://oi68.tinypic.com/308b2bn.jpg

So I decided to try the free version, because we need only the functionality “editors picks”, since we use the plugin “XML Sitemap & Google News feeds” which manages the Sitemaps to Google News.

There are also errors with the free version, in the editing of the articles “text” options for the text editor disappear, except in cases of use of “visual” of the post of editor WordPress.

    Screenshot: https://oi65.tinypic.com/zssugm.jpg

With the free version plugin, when I add the second article, another error appears with the sitmap:

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 1 at column 1294: Entity ‘rsquo’ not defined
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
    Screenshot: https://oi65.tinypic.com/14lsf7n.jpg

(to avoid conflicts, the schema option is not necessary, the themes manages this option, also the subtitle, many plugin and themes offer this feature)

Please, correct the errors and bugs, and simplify your plugin

Thank you to test your plugins online, not only in the local host.

I also suggest that you create a sitemap plugin only for Google News, and the second plugin for the editor without making the connections between the two plugins, to avoid conflicts, and to make the choice to the user between plugins.

Another suggestion: is register your plugin in ThemeForest.

    Thank you

    Hye linformatiquelabs,

This free version hasn’t really been supported in a while but we are releasing an update soon (hopefully this weekend). Every site is different, but that will likely clear up your issue.

On Yoast, I’ve been meaning to write a blog post about this on the Google News Plugin site because there is really no error with Yoast and the XML New Sitemap.

They just put a function in their new overhauled version to specifically look for other sitemaps and display a false error–presumably in order to get more sales on their own plugin–which is inadequate for several reasons I’m not going to tell them about here.

We are adding a function to remove their message because it’s not accurate. We, and the vast majority of our customers, use both the WordPress Google News Plugin and Yoast with no problems.

Looking into these errors for you and will follow up with you. But at a glance I can see most have been fixed on the latest version. My French is a bit rusty, but the altHeadline was displaying even when there was no value and that’s been fixed.

The url value, if you don’t enter it, will throw an error. But in the meantime I’ll double-check why it is even still firing if you have it unchecked.

Unfortunately, most site themes are not adequately marked up with Schema structured data for your articles to appear highly on Google News. Those that are, aren’t built designed for Google News and will not be featured “In-Depth” or rank highly as is pictured in this screenshots here <–.

Thanks for the suggestions, but we aren’t going to make the sitemap into a free version. We just added several new features, including the options/ability to use multiple genres tags and use images.

Default theme and WP functions re: images, as with the Schema problem, aren’t always sufficient and sometimes Google-bot News gets confused.

On ThemeForest, it’s just not worth it for some plugin developers who don’t need the traffic. We get enough business from referrals, the Google News team and organic traffic without needing to give them half of our sales.

Not sure why we didn’t get a support request through the website, but if your license is still valid and want us to get the premium version going flawlessly on the site, then contact me directly and we will get it done.

On this free version, keep an eye out for the update notice and hopefully it will be up soon.

    All the best!

    Hello Peoples Pundit,

    Thank you for your reply,

Our license is valid and using your latest version “2.7.5.3”; I post on the WordPress forum, because you talk about your premium version here, on the site of WordPress, so users are interested to know the opinion of your customers, the quality of your product, and the support that you can offer your customer for errors or bugs.

The sitemap for Google News displays a blank page on Google Chrome:

    Screenshot: https://oi65.tinypic.com/2dw7zva.jpg

On Firefox, your plugin does not display items:

Screenshot: https://oi66.tinypic.com/2jadspj.jpg (Our test was on two websites, on these two websites we publish at least 20 articles a day, and have more than thirteen thousand items)

Google News sitemap and Editor’s Pick also does not work, screenshot: https://oi65.tinypic.com/14lsf7n.jpg

In our test, there is a conflict between your plugin and Yoast (screenshot: https://oi67.tinypic.com/2a6qfr4.jpg). It is clear even for users that Yoast attack its competition to get more users and more sales, and personally I hate this strategy.

“Looking into these errors for you and will follow up with you. But at a glance I can see most have been fixed on the latest version.” We use the latest version of your plugin, and these errors still exist, screenshot: https://oi63.tinypic.com/o09lvo.jpg
“My French is a bit rusty, but the altHeadline was displaying even when there was no value and that’s been fixed.” No need for a French language proficiency, Google translate can help you understand, and we can translate the error message you do not understand, but the most important in all this is that the feature “pattern” is still active even though we did not want to use a schema twice, it is an error , as you know.

Again, no need to understand the French language, it is clear that the “article” schema is twofold: https://oi65.tinypic.com/xlf0j6.jpg

Imagine if you go to buy 1 kilo of meat and butcher forces you to take the bread! And you tell him I have bread at home or I con buy it from a bakery, butcher answer, “my customers love the bread that I sell! “” Then take it! “(you have to give your customers the right to choose)

I repeat once again: we are only interested in the Google News sitemap and flow of editor Picks!

The schema that your plugin proposes is doubled and contains errors and it is impossible to disable “even with the latest version of your plugin ‘Google News Plugin’ Version 2.7.5.3” https://oi68.tinypic.com/308b2bn .jpg

This is a very big mistake to force users to use the schema and subtitle when we already have these features, so give us please the ability to actually disable the two options, especially the diagram, or permanently eliminated these two features.

There is a free plugin that provides the functionality subtitle: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-subtitle/

And there is a free plugin that provides a correct pattern and with no errors, the plugin name is “Add Meta Tags”, proposed by George Notaras: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/add-meta-tags/ (respect and greeting for the developer)

Know that your clients are interested more and more by the news sitemap and flow to Google News Editors Picks, think please, additional features you propose pose bugs, if these bugs didn’t happen to all your clients, it probably happens to many users.

If you are interested in the schema, you can create a separate plugin instead of an impossible option to disable!

” Thanks for the suggestions, but we aren’t going to make the sitemap into a free version ” I did not ask for a free version of the sitemap, we’re waiting for a version that works without error, without bugs. I proposed the separation of features, only a plugin for Google News sitemap, and a plugin only for Editor picks to give users the choice between plugins and avoid errors and bugs.

Simplify please your plugin, so that your clients remain comfortable and you too.

And finally I tell you, if you listen to your customers, and you correct the bugs, you can exceed the popularity of Yoast.

Hopefully you’ll soon correct the errors present on your plugin, and in this case we will immediately publish here on this forum to say that you have corrected these errors and bugs.

If fixing bugs take you a lot of time, please fix at least the free version, because we already use a plugin that manages the Google News sitemap and that works well, without errors.

Our criticism is to improve your service, thank you for your understanding and for your plugin and for your help.

    Good luck

I think I know what is happening. You must have purchased the plugin when we had a brief screw up on the update and another version with the same number came up. The plugin folder uploaded was just completely wrong and we thought we sent everyone that might have received it the correct one.

If you look at your metabox and it doesn’t have the ability to turn off Schema for individual articles/posts, then that’s what is going on.

If it doesn’t look like this picture then that’s your issue.

Enlarge the issue because we don’t allow hotlinks.

Like I offered previously, we can get it working if you shoot us temp creds to the support email [email protected]

Exactly same mistakes in this version!

Can you update the free version please? We are interested only for Google News Editors Picks.

We do not have a single other client/user experiencing the same issues, so it must be something site-specific. There are no “mistakes” in this plugin.

Make sure you uploaded and replaced the old version, cleared your cache, updated settings (there are several new ones) & did a quick edit update on one of the posts etc. to trigger the sitemap generator.

Also, when new feeds are created, you need to re-save your permalinks to fire the add_feed action for new WP_Query( $args ).

Everyone’s site setup is different. Considering the plugin worked well on the other site you had for nearly a year without issue, there must be a later date add-on that caused a site-specific issue.

But that’s something we need to look at ourselves. If you open a support ticket on the premium site or email me temp credentials, I will help you.

Otherwise, without access to the backend, error_log/debug, there’s not a whole lot we can do and shouldn’t keep this thread open.

    Hello,

The errors with your latest version:

    1: Schema errors

2: The language chosen, does not apply to all posts (in sitemap news/language)

3: A new error with your new version (version 2.7.6), the setting does not appear, an empty page displayed

(Only your plugin that is active on a test website, without cache plugin, without using browser cache, our test in Firefox and Chrome Google)

    Always same mistakes.

    Good luck
