• Hi, folks at Kadence Themes,

Great theme (Virtue), but I’m having several issues with it and they are what’s stopping me from upgrading to the premium version.

    Issues are:

-Product gallery images don’t show all images thumbnails on single product view in front-end.
    – Variations stop working on front-end when ‘Detailed description’ and ‘Related Products’ are activated on the theme’s Shop Settings.
-Product featured image does not appear on back-end for some products and sometimes neither on front-end.
-‘Custom Woocommerce Measure Price Calculator’ plugin does not work with this theme, yet it works with most other themes.

I want to purchase premium upgrade for my client but I’m wary to do it without having sorted out the above within the free (trial) version.

    Help, please.

    Cheers, Syl

    Hi Michael,

Yes, because the calculator we both know doesn’t work with variable products, at least not within the Virtue theme, so they have to be set as simple products. Making the switch to simple products is easy, just choosing ‘Simple product’ from the drop-down menu at the product dashboard.

Now, I believe you mean the variations. Yes, you would have to set them up again for product using that plugin I recommended you.
In my case I only had a few products set up for my client, each with a few attributes and variations, so it wasn’t as much work.

If you think it’s going to cost you as much time (time is money) to work around the issue this way as it would Kadence’s way then I would follow their advice.

    Best of luck!

Are you kidding? just spent 3 days setting up a site on virtue, just importing products & I find this out?

Was singing Virtues praises before but not now & in relation to blame etc all I can say is measurement price calculator works with every other theme I have tried to set it up on with no issues what so ever.

So much so I never imagined it would conflict as its not a javascript plugin where most conflicts arise!

What exactly is virtue doing to customize woocommerce?

Just wanted to add that my earlier post may be have been a bit critical considering that virtue is a free theme.

In truth I have enjoyed working with the free Virtue version very much & I am just gutted that after having massive issues with a “different” premium themes poor load speeds and code quality, I found a free theme (Virtue) that did everything I needed and more. Was really simple to work with and had great load speeds! Only to be knocked down at the final hurdle when adding my products

IMHO Meausurement price calculator does seem a popular plugin & it does seem to work with all other themes I have used it with (Sorry) quite happy to loan you my copy of the plugin for you to have a looksy.

& apologies for my earlier gut reaction, having to start over is always a frustration ??

    Hey Tigermoo,
I’ll explain what the virtue theme does differently with the product variations, it’s about the only thing I can thing of that would cause this. If I had access to the plugin I could determine more.

Woocommerce by default hides the “add to cart” button on products with variations. It then shows the add to cart button once the variation have been selected. As a web designer I was always “fixing” this for clients because they thought it was confusing to arrive at a product page and not see a add to cart option.

So with the theme I changed that one thing, I made it so the add to cart is visible even if the variations aren’t selected. It’s just a change of a few files. If you send me a email I can send you a child theme that removes this change and then you can tell me if that is what is causing the issue with the plugin your wanting to use.

    Quick Update

So for anyone else who was hoping to use the measurement Price Calculator plugin with Virtue woocommerce theme and came accross the same issues on variable products, good news, there is a solution!

The guys over at Kadence themes have produced a child theme that removes the small woocommerce customization Ben mentioned in his earlier post.

I have installed the child theme and set up some variable products and all is well.

I am sure if you need the child theme they will be able to send you a copy.

I can’t thank the guys over at Kadence themes enough, all sorted within less than 48 hrs wow! and over a weekend too!

Excellent Theme, and excellent support ??
