Several media libraries

I’ve a lot of picture albums and would like to have the pictures of each album in an own, separate directory / library.
How can I create multiple media libraries for that?

Reason: I have a multilingual site (Multilingual Press Free plugin) and will share the albums at each language site. To add all pictures to one library would make it almost unworkable with thousands of pictures.
