Several newbie questions

  • Hi all,

    I have just installed wordpress on GoDaddy, and I have the following questions. Any pointers would be helpful:

    1) When I publish my pages on GoDaddy.com, the URL is mydomainname\wordpress\…. How can I remove the wordpress from the URL?

    2) The pages I have developed so far, can be accessed through similar URL as follows:

    https://mydomainname/wordpress/?page_id=2

    How can I change the URL so that it says contactus.html instead of ?page_id=2?
