    Hi,
First congrats to this great plugin. It took a while to get it work but now it seems great.

Unfortunately I cannot translate the login button, couldn’t find any strings within your plugin. Same for the pop-up window to verify the new user by cell phone. I would suggest that the admin is able to do a preset of the country, e.g. Germany.

Second to get your plugin GDPR ready (see https://gdpr-info.eu/) we need a checkbox for the GDPR of the site owner (me), a checkbox for reading the terms and conditions of the site owner (me) and a GDPR link of Telegram conformity with GDPR.

The profile photo only works with WordPress but not with BuddyPress. The registration process is longer and I would suggest that the user has to fill out the rest of the form after login. So we need here a redirect to the BuddyPress profile of a user. After this the user is ready.

Or the user has to do the normal registration process and is able to connect the Telegram Login after this.

What do you think about it?

    Regards,
    Thorsten

  • Hello,
I’m glad it works for you ??

As far as translating the button text is concerned, that’s hard-coded by Telegram and we have no control over it. We had asked @BotSupport so times to allow translation for the button text, but didn’t get any response.
Same applies to country preset, GDPR etc.

About the profile photo, BuddyPress overrides the profile photo set by WP Telegram Login. There is a solution to fix that by custom code.

Also, about the lengthy process, it’s all from Telegram, the only control we have is to trigger the button click and the rest is done by Telegram and we receive the final user data after all those steps.

    Hope that clarifies it ??

    @manzoorwanijk

Thank you very much for your fast response and clarifying the issues I reported. I understand this but under this circumstances I’m not able to use it because GDPR has a lot of demands to fulfill.

But it is still a great plugin.

    Thank you ??

You can use any other plugin to display the GDPR info. The plugin only saves First Name, Last Name and Profile photo URL in the database.

But the button should be activated after checking the check boxes. I would prefer a solution if the user is able to connect his account with the Telegram Messenger after the whole registration process.

    Is that possible?

Telegram does display that info in the login dialogue.

Yes, but GDPR says the user has to check it before the process starts and it must be understandable in the native language.

If I would do it after the normal registration process I would be able to explain it in the GDPR context of the site and how it works.
