SEVERE LAG: update routine – Shortcodes Ultimate: Extra Shortcodes, Maker Addon

There is a request for updates that causes 5s-10s of server lag that occurs during all wordpress operations as the server waits for a timeout. I know this bug to be caused by the Shortcodes Ultimate addons “Extra Shortcodes” and “Maker Addon.” This is a serious problem for anyone using these addons as it causes both the WP-Admin panel and front end of the website to take an extra 10s to load a page or preform any operation within a page. If this sounds like something that is occurring on your website, try disabling these two addon plugins.

I was able to solve the problem but continue to use “Extra Shortcodes” and “Maker Addon” by removing 2 lines of code from each of the two plugins that had the word “update” in them.
