• I’m using Arjuna X version 1.6.11 (the latest available through my wordpress Dashboard) and the SexyBookmarks plugin version 4.0.4.2 (also the latest available through my wordpress Dashboard).

The plugin works fine, and I have confirmed this with the authors of the plugin. When I use the Arjuna X theme, however, the plugin does not display any bookmarks like it is supposed to.

My conversation with the authors of the plugin is here: https://getsatisfaction.com/shareaholic/topics/new_version_does_not_display_icons_on_web_site_old_version_does and has been marked as “SOLVED” simply because they cannot “fix” the plugin because it is the Arjuna X theme that is broken.

Is someone out there able to help me with this?

Ideally, SRS Solutions would fix the theme, of course, but I guess they’d have to read this in order to know it needed fixing.

Any advice gratefully received (and I’m no expert… I can code very basic PHP, but know nothing about wordpress themes, plugins, “codex” etc…)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

can anyone help? Someone out there must use SexyBookmarks with the Arjuna-X theme… that theme was the most popular on the wordpress site at one point!

Or, failing that, do the theme developers (SRS Solutions) read these posts??

Someone out there must know the solution to this one, surely… I’m at a dead end…

    anybody?

i’ll stop bumping this topic soon… really, I will. there has to be someone out there who can help though ??

fishsponge, have you read the FAQs?

Thanks for the link… i’ve been there already though and done the checks (to the best of my ability at least).

As far as I can tell, everything seems to be in order with my theme according to the FAQ, but I cannot figure out what else is causing it…

Have you tried to turn off “new mode”?

    Thread Starter fishsponge

    (@fishsponge)

yeah, using “old mode” works fine, but then I don’t get the sharing counters and the other extra features… hence why it’s been on old mode ever since an update to the plugin many months ago…

Have you tried disabling your others plugins to check whether there is a conflict?

    Thread Starter fishsponge

    (@fishsponge)

I have not tried disabling other plugins yet because when I switch to a different theme, it works perfectly in “new mode”.

I therefore assume other plugins are not the problem.

… or could I be wrong with that theory?

You wouldn’t know unless you try ?? If I were you I would disable other plugins to test.

    (@fishsponge)

very true… the only trouble is, if I find that “Plugin A” breaks it, i’ll be no closer to the answer…

If I disable “Plugin A”, Sexybookmarks starts working.
If I disable the “Arjuna X” theme it also starts working.

With one of them enabled and the other disabled (in either order) Sexybookmarks works, so which is the cause of it breaking??

I guess i’ll just have to try that first…

Be on Arjuna X, and disable all plugins BUT SexyBookmarks. See if that works. If it works, then we’ve narrowed it down to another plugin and the theme is probably fine.

    Thread Starter fishsponge

    (@fishsponge)

I agree… if I disable a plugin while using “Arjuna-X” it looks like it’s that plugin that’s breaking it.

But also, if I leave all plugins enabled and I disable “Arjuna-X” it works. So that makes it look like the theme is breaking it.

We’re still none the wiser… whether I test it or not.

So if you use Arjuna and disable all other plugins other than SB, SB then still works?

    Thread Starter fishsponge

    (@fishsponge)

I still haven’t had time to test disabling all the plugins but leaving Arjuna-X enabled, but my point is that even if I do and it proves that one of the plugins is causing it, it still doesn’t tell us anything, because if I leave all the plugins enabled but use a different theme it still works, so we still wouldn’t know if it was the theme or the plugin.

    Does that make sense?

That is true. I discounted the fact that you switched themes on the same blog w/ the same set of plugins.

Have you tried any of the compatibility fixes? Like loading jquery in the footer, etc.
