• I moved 4 sites from non-Sieground to Siteground. 1 site ran smoothly and fast with the plugin, other 3 failed. The plugin starts and it just hangs after a couple of seconds. More or less the same sites (just one page). I have asked SG support but they were not able to find the issue.

Which hosting provider have you been migrating from?

I don’t know exactly the name because my client bought hosting with a reseller, aplogigize. In DNS/NS: it was described as:’Private host.’

The plugin works by creating a dump of your database and manifest of the files. Then it pings our system which starts to download your content into your account, doing the reconfiguration, etc.

Some hosting companies can just filter out those requests with strange firewalls or even manually by their admins if they notice too much traffic / connections. We’ve limited it to be pretty much on the safe site (slower is ok as long as it moves everything) but some companies just keep doing it, especially small ones.

I am sorry for your bad experience but I am afraid only half of the migration process is in our hands and we it’s not really plugin’s fault in such cases.

Thanks Hristo, I understand. I’ll try it again next time.

If it goes well, plese update the rating ??

Hi Hristo, like kaat18, I’ve used SG Migrator successfully, but I’ve struck an error with a site I’m trying to migrate to Siteground. There are two issues.

    1) this is the error message… cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds

    and

    2) The plugin recommends to ‘Please, generate another Migration Token from your SiteGround cPanel’. But the Generate Token area says ‘Token already exists’.

What do you recommend to do next to migrate this site? (the site is hosted with iPage)

Thanks in advance for your reply.
