Every time we log into our WP Dashboard, we notice some of our widgets (those with counters) do not update until we click the “Purge SG Cache” button at the top of the WP Dashboard menu.

The WP Dashboard URL in question is: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/index.php

We have added the URLs listed below to your plugin’s “Exclude URLs from Caching” field, but it’s not helping. We are not using any other caching plugin, except SG Optimizer’s “Cloudflare Full Page Caching” feature.

    /wp-admin*
    /wp-admin/*

Your assistance in solving the above is deeply appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hey there @generosus,

The wp-admin pages should not be cached by default. Would it be possible to provide a site URL? Also, are you using any additional Cloudflare rules or other caching plugins?

    Kind regards,
    Stoyan

We are not caching anything in the backend. Probably there’s something messed up with Clouflare and pressing our purge button clears their cache too. Anyway, this is not a SGO issue.

We are not using any other caching plugin other than SGO and Cloudflare.

    Our Environment:

    Avada 7.6
    WP 5.8.2
    PHP 7.4.26
    SGO 6.0.5
    Cloudflare Full Page Caching
Google Chrome 96.0.4664.110 (latest) in Incognito Mode

Our Settings: (as it relates to caching)

    Avada: No caching
    WP: No caching
SGO: Dynamic and Memcached ON; Excluded URLs: /wp-admin*; and /wp-admin/*
Cloudflare: Workers ON (URL: *mywebsite.com/*); One Page Rule (URL: *mywebsite.com/wp-admin*, Security Level: High, Cache Level: Bypass, Disable Performance)

    Questions:

    (1) What is the exact URL we should use in the SGO exclusion list? /wp-admin* OR /wp-admin/*

    (2) With Cloudflare Full Page Caching activated, do we still need to add a Page Rule to bypass caching for /wp-admin* ?

    (3) Any other recommendations or suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Hey @generosus,

WordPress Dashboard pages are excluded by default in SGO, so no need to add them to the exclusion list. You do have to add a Page Rule to bypass caching for /wp-admin/*, if you have CloudFlare enabled.

    Hi @ignatggeorgiev,

Thank you. Per your instructions, we have deleted the exclusion from SGO and have added a Page Rule to Cloudflare.

Can you guys please update your documentation to reflect what you stated? Also, please update it to include details for SGO’s Full Page Caching feature which is missing. When we set up, for example, Cloudflare’s Full Page Caching, all of our Page Rules were deleted and were never told to add back in the /wp-admin/* page rule.

    Thank you!
