• Hi,

with great pleasure I use the Coblocks plugin along with the Go theme and have added the Shape Divider block to the bottom of all static pages to make a colored footer more interesting:

Now I would like to customize the footer for the blog page accordingly as well, but the static page is used as a placeholder for the posts and even if I add a Shape Divider before setting the page as blog page, the shape divider doesn’t show up on the web page. Is there some trick I’m missing? The theme doesn’t seem to offer any options for this in the customizer.

A workaround would be to create a child theme and copy/paste the block to the template. I would appreciate an easier solution though.

    Hi @pixolin,

If you could provide me with the URL of the page you are having issues with, I might be able to take a closer look and see what is going on there.

Though, it appears that setting a page that lists posts overrides the Shape Divider. Have you considered an option to create a static page, then list posts using the Posts block, and add Shape Divider to that page?

Sadly theme’s footer cannot be modified using CoBlocks, so creating a child theme is also a feasible workaround for this situation.

    I hope this helps, cheers!

    Hi Andrija,

    thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, the website has not been released yet and I understand that it is difficult to judge a problem based only on questions. I appreciate your answer even more.

    Yes, that’s exactly my point.

The popular WordPress theme Astra has a Custom Layouts Module, which let you style components such as footer and header and I hoped, CoBlocks would have something similar. Perhaps I should jump over to GitHub and make a (cheeky) feature request…???

Good point, but I need a blog page with full post content and blog navigation (previous/next posts).

Sadly theme’s footer cannot be modified using CoBlocks, so creating a child theme is also a feasible workaround for this situation.

Right, that would be my conclusion, too.

    I hope this helps, cheers!

    Absolutely. Thank you.
