    Hi everyone,

I just started a facebook fan page and someone clicked the share button below the cover photo on my facebook page. I was curious how this will look like on his timeline and was totally disappointed that there showed up nothing else than the name of my facebook page. no image, no subheader, just a ugly grey/black block with the name.

Does this has something to do with OG and the social settings under seopress?
I enabled OG data and uploaded a default image and an image on the relevant landing/home page via seopress as well.
The Facebook App ID is left blank at the moment.

Nothing changed. Cleared the cache. Still no image…
To be honest, I don’t know if this even has something to do with seopress and open graph. I never used facebook before;)

I did some testing and shared a post… here, the image and Subheader showed up.
But “page sharing” doesn’t seem to work…

Can someone tell me what I’m missing?

Help is very much appreciated, thanks in advance.
    Cheers

    Hi,

Are you talking about sharing url of your Facebook page or a page of your website?

Because, in the first case, we can’t act on this.

    Hi Benjamin,
thanks for getting back to me.
It’s when someone tries to share my facebook/fan page on his timeline by clicking the share button below the cover photo on facebook.
If you can confirm that this has nothing to do with the open graph setting but could rather be a facebook problem that would help me out a lot. Because I can exclude the social settings (like OG) on the seopress settings.
Do you think it’s a facebook issue?
    Cheers

Yes it’s not related to SEOPress.

I strongly encourage you to keep the social settings ON on your site to have a better sharing of your content on social media.
