Share buttons help

I am easily able to add my share buttons (facebook, twitter, email, etc..) to my posts, but they seem to be attached to the page they are on. When I try to use them (e.g. facebook share) it will just share the website page that I am on. I want it to share what is within my post. Specifically the content in that post, like a youtube video or something.
