Share Buttons Showing but Not Working

I deleted the function with all the indented text, I then deleted ALL the text in the theme_scripts.php (there is only a first line and a last line in addition to the above) and it just messes up the whole website …..
BY ‘delete function’ can you please be more specific (I mean from where to where – the end of the indented text ?) or does it seem like this is not the fix ?

I know that you don’t support other templates themes but would you know where this problem could be solved (I am not getting much assistance from the template makers):

I am not sure I can help you with that, but you might want to try creating a custom menu, under Appearance > Menus in your dashboard.

My share buttons do not work. when you click on it the result is that it goes to the top of the page. This was working in the past but I just received feedback from some associates about it so I do not know how long the issue has been there. My web site is https://www.shiftingmindsets.ca

I’m having a similar issue to TonyScutella. My share buttons also do not work… instead they open the blog they’re attached to in a new window. (see https://datingshakeup.com)

The buttons work if I change the ‘button style’ to ‘official buttons’ in Publicize Sharing Settings. But if I used ‘official buttons’ the Facebook Like button has no pop-up dialog to post anything to the users Facebook profile. Whereas I’ve noticed that the Facebook share button used on this page (https://jetpack.me/2012/11/08/jetpack-2-0-publicize-to-facebook-twitter-linkedin-tumblr-post-by-email-photon-infinite-scroll/) with the button style ‘icon + text’ opens up a ‘Share this link on your timeline etc.’ dialog, which I would like to have.

@peezey01 Could you start a new thread about your issue, since your issue seems different from the one original poster?
You’ll want to try to disable all other plugins first, one at a time, and check if one of them conflicts with the sharing buttons.

I’m sure this is overkill by now, but I have one last help question on this thread!

So after I changed the buttons back to the “official buttons” they finally started working! The only remaining issue that the Pinit button icon isn’t showing up. The words show up and it works, but now the icon isn’t showing up. Thoughts?

I’m posting this here since I think the issues are prob somehow related.

@kskwared The problem is indeed similar to the ones listed above: your theme, Thrilling Theme, includes its own version of jQuery 1.2.1 instead of using the version that of jQuery that comes bundled with WordPress.

The Pinterest button should start appearing again once you remove this old version of jQuery.

You will also want to make sure you are running the latest version of the Jetpack plugin, to avoid any other issues.
