Share count slows down the site

    Hi,

    I noticed lately that my site became slower than usual.

    When I checked GTMTERIX I noticed that the process, which shows the share count takes several seconds to load (check the waterfall graph of GTMETRIX using the link, which I have provided).

    Can you please review this and see if there is anything you could do to optimize the performance?

    Hi Zvi,

    If you have enabled Facebook share with share counts, it would add to page load time only the first time your webpage loads within the share count cache interval (you have set in the Miscellaneous section at plugin options page in admin). There will be no extra load time related to share counts when the webpage loads during the subsequent page loads till cached shares expire.
    Apart from this, you can enable Load Javascript files in footer option in Miscellaneous section to minimize the increased page load time because of the plugin.
