share counts

    I’m not sure if this is related to the plugin or is a facebook problem, because the same problem is showing elsewhere. (I tried one of facebook’s share buttons and it has the same problem. The counter isn’t actually showing the number of shares, but the number of likes.

    Wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if there’s a way to fix it.

    What makes up the number shown next to my Share button?

    The number shown is the sum of:

    * The number of likes of your URL
    * The number of shares of your URL (this includes copy/pasting a link back to Facebook)
    * The number of likes and comments on stories on Facebook about your URL

    I’m aware, let me clarify, it’s not counting my shares as it used to, it is only counting my likes.

    This isn’t resolved for me. The share count is wrong. I could have 50 shares but the counter shows zero. i’ve disabled the counter until it reads correctly.

    The button and its counter are rendered by Facebook’s JavaScript, so there isn’t anything we can do until they fix it.

    Have you tried both the “Like and Send” and the “Share” buttons?

    Ah okay, I tried and no chance, it’s only showing likes. Thanks!
