Sharing button has dissapeared
-
Hello,
I got the plugin 2 days ago and it worked fine, now all of the sudden the sharing button on the post pages have dissapeared. Why is that?

Hi @mloe,
What version of the plugin are you using? In the plugin settings, in the “Sharing Options” tab do you have “Post” unselected for the setting “Share the following: Posts, Pages and Custom Post Types”? Make sure “Post” is selected (as well as any other custom post types or pages you may want to share).
If the issue persists, can you please send a screenshot and also please go to the “Help” tab and go to the last question “I am still having issues with the plugin, what can I Do?” and please send the diagnostic information in your reply.
Thanks,Hello,
I looked at everything you said, but it’s not re-appearing on the posts. Products does have a share button even without being selected in the options.

@mloe, have you tried enabling it using the screen options?
Please see: https://imgur.com/a/bB6o36cHello,
I just looked in screen options, It isn’t there for me to enable or disable. The plugin is downloaded and active but it’s not in screen options. I cleared cache that also didn’t help. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lvi059NFNmZc_p0okt7firFiKbFocq35/view?usp=sharing
Hi @mloe,
This is very interesting, I have never come across this issue before.
I have 2 ideas. Firstly, previously you sent this screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ToyzLsiIsho45TQNeqJXmYGFjv6-cGN4/view it’s hard for me to tell 100% whether this is a post or perhaps another post type (because I only speak English). So please just triple check on your end that you are definitely creating a post and not some other post type.
Also please check to see if you have any plugin or custom code that is preventing our metabox from displaying on the page. For example I have developed a plugin here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-custom-admin-interface/ which has the ability to remove metaboxes from pages. Although I couldn’t see such a plugin in your list, please check this and also check to see if you have any custom code which might be doing this.
Also I would recommend doing an isolation test to see whether things might be affected by other plugins or your theme. So you can try deactivating all other plugins except ours, and using a basic theme like Twenty Twenty or something and see if the metabox shows.Other than this, I am a little out of ideas as I don’t have any other reports of the issue. Thanks!
Hi,
OkeI did 2 things. I deactivated all plugins but that wasn’t the problem. I then thought of checking all the boxes at the share the following post and custom post types. (I should have done that first instead of deactivating and activating the plugins. But it appears that when I check the box Job_listing then it works for my posts, but I had unchecked it because I didn’t want to post the jobs, only the business pages. But the plugin sees all my posts as job listings how can this be fixed?
I also got logged out by LinkedIn saying I can’t use plugins to automatically post ,doesn’t LinkedIn allow this?
Hi @mloe,
I suspect the way your custom post has been created is causing this issue. I am confident in the way our plugin manages the process of whether to show or hide the metabox because it is done in a very standard way, and this is the first report of this issue and people have been using the plugin for years using custom posts. So my advice is, just leave the Job_listing activated, and then on your job listing post, go to the screen options and hide the metabox. That way it will work for your posts, but when you create jobs you won’t see it. But you may need to play around with things and test things out.
On your second request, I have not heard of this before, you need to provide more info and ideally a screenshot. Thanks,
Hello thank you for the help.
I can’t show a screenshot at the moment of LinkedIn because It disappeared after logging in again.
could you also please help me I don’t understand when I am the author of a post it gets posted to LinkedIn but when people register on the site and their business is posted it doesn’t show on LinkedIn not even when I do it from the dashboard. When I klik post now on my posts it posts but on someone else’s post it doesn’t show on LinkedIn.Hi @mloe,
If you are not a developer, it may be best to consider getting the pro version AutoSocial so I can provide more extensive support for your specific circumstance.
Our plugin does a share using the standard WordPress hook called transition_post_status (https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/hooks/transition_post_status/). We check to make sure the new post status is published, and if so we do a share. Different plugins/themes can create posts in different ways which may bypass this action hook being called, and this is why those posts may not be sharing.Sometimes it may be necessary for posts which aren’t triggering that action for custom development work to be done when those specific posts are created. You can then call this function: wp_linkedin_autopublish_post_to_linkedin_common ($postId); which just requires the posts ID and then our plugin will do a share for it.
Thanks,Thanks a lot for the help.
One last question, if one author places a business listing and it gets posted on linkedin, what can cause the other author who places the same type of business listing not to be posted on linkedin?sorry for the many questions
Hi @mloe this was already discussed on this thread here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/sharing-button-has-dissapeared/#post-16910802
